About Me

20130323-120003.jpgMy name is Sarah and I was diagnosed with Coeliac Disease when I was 21 years old. I’m from Birmingham, UK so most of my posts will revolve around this location. I am now 25 years old and being told you are Coeliac can change your whole world! I intend to use this blog to let you all know my experiences so far with living a gluten-free lifestyle, from the process of being diagnosed to the everyday struggles that arise.

I would like to make a difference. Before I was tested for Coeliac Disease I had never even heard of it – which is disgusting! and in my opinion if I didn’t know what it was I know for a fact many other people are in the same position. That is only half the trouble as many other coeliac’s will find that even people who have heard of coeliac disease do not understand it or do not respect that it is not our decision to only eat gluten-free.

Although it is very doubtful that on my own I cannot change the price of gluten-free supermarket foods, make available gluten-free options in restaurants or enjoy some gluten-free fast food on a day out – but I am going to attempt to make a difference if I can, one small step at a time.

One last thing – the charity CoeliacUK (www.coeliac.org.uk) is amazing and I would urge everyone to look at their website for expert opinions. Although this blog is just my opinion and experiences they are the ones with the knowledge that has helped me immensely over the past few months.
